The Village of DeForest recently updated their Farmland Preservation Ordinance. Town of Vienna farmers are now eligible to claim Farmland Preservation Tax Credits. As part of the ordinance update it was necessary to change the zoning on parcels that were zoned A-1ex that are smaller than 35 acres.
Affected residents received a letter in mid-June 2015 explaining that their property needed to be rezoned. A draft of the DeForest Ordinance can be found here.

A public hearing was held at the DeForest/Vienna ETZ meeting in July 2015.
